1 These benefits are subject to a S$100 excess for each and every claim submitted unless the optional benefit Excess Waiver is applicable and endorsed on the Policy Schedule.
2For Insured Child, the maximum benefit is S$50,000. Personal Accident Protection commences 3 hours before the Insured Person(s) leave(s) Singapore and cease(s) when any of the following occurs first: (a) when the period specified in the policy has expired,(b) when the Insured Person(s) return(s) to his/her/their permanent place of residence, or (c) within 3 hours upon return to Singapore.

Notes:

  1. The above is intended as a general summary of the coverage provided under the Policy. Please refer to the policy wordings for the applicable terms, conditions and exclusions.
  2. Insured person must be 70 years of age or below.
  3. The maximum period of an insured journey cannot exceed 181 days and 90 days per journey for single trip plan and annual plan respectively.
  4. The journey must be commenced from Singapore.
  5. The insurance is only valid for conventional leisure travel or business travel (limited to administrative duty) purpose only.
  6. Columbus Travel Insurance is underwritten by Chartis Singapore Insurance Pte. Ltd., through its authorized Agent in Singapore. Columbus Insurance Private Limited is a member of the Columbus Group of Companies.
  7. If the insured person is covered by more than one comprehensive voluntary travel insurance policies underwritten by Chartis Singapore Insurance Pte. Ltd. for the same trip, only the travel insurance policy with the greatest compensation will apply and the benefits thereunder payable.

3Family plan is available to Annual Plan only and insures a maximum of 2 adults (18-70 years old) who are legally married with at least 1 dependent child who is under 18 years old or up to 23 years old if studying full-time in a recognised institute of higher learning. Each child must be accompanied by either of the insured parents for any trip made during the Policy Period.

*All claims will be paid in Singapore.

d. Major Exclusions - the Policy does not cover:

  1. War, civil war, invasion, insurrection, revolution, use of military power or usurpation of government or military power; any illegal or unlawful acts.
  2. Jewellery or accessories, antiques, fragile articles, watches, musical instruments, bridges for tooth or teeth, dentures, cash card, EZ Link Card etc
  3. Any pre-existing condition; pregnancy or childbirth; AIDS or sexually transmitted disease.
  4. Suicide or attempted suicide or intentional self-injury; mental or nervous disorders.
  5. Competitive sports, engaging in a professional capacity in any sport where the insured person would or could earn income.
  6. An insured person who travels in, to or through Afghanistan, Cuba, Democratic Republic of Congo, Iran, Iraq, Liberia, Libya, Sudan or Syria.
  7. Any Terrorist or member of a terrorist organization, narcotics trafficker, or purveyor of nuclear, chemical or biological weapons.

f. Claims Procedures and Form

In the event of claims, please notify Chartis Singapore Insurance Pte. Ltd. Travel Claims in writing within 30 days from the date of the incident, together with all relevant documents. Detailed instructions on how to file a claim are set out in the Travel Insurance Claim Form .
